Season Special – Why Seasonal Sweets Matter

According to Ayurveda, every season (Ritu) brings changes in the body and nature. To stay healthy, it’s important to eat foods that balance these shifts. Madhura Rasa (sweet taste) is considered the first and most important among all tastes, but the form of sweets must change with the season.
At Kiasa, we prepare seasonal sweets inspired by Ayurveda—crafted to nourish, balance doshas, and keep you in harmony with nature.
The Six Rituchakra (Seasons) as per Ayurveda:

  •  Vasant Ritu (Spring) – Light, dry foods balance Kapha; sweets made from grains, jaggery, and honey.
  •  Grishma Ritu (Summer) – Cooling sweets with milk, ghee, and fruits to reduce heat and dehydration.
  •  Varsha Ritu (Monsoon) – Warm, digestive sweets with dry ginger, ajwain, and ghee to balance Vata.
  •  Sharad Ritu (Autumn) – Milk, coconut, and sugar-based sweets to calm Pitta.
  •  Hemant Ritu (Early Winter) – Rich, heavy sweets with ghee, nuts, and jaggery to build strength.
  •  Shishir Ritu (Late Winter) – Energy-rich sweets with sesame, jaggery, and dry fruits to keep warmth and immunity.

Sharad Ritu Specials

In Sharad Ritu, Pitta dosha naturally rises in the body. Ayurveda recommends balancing it with cooling, nourishing sweets made from milk, coconut, and sugar.
One should enjoy cooling sweets like Doodh Pak, Kheer, and Doodh Pauva to balance the body.
At Kiasa, we prepare Milk & Coconut base Sweets, and more seasonal delights that calm Pitta, refresh the body, and sweeten the season naturally.
