The Sanskrit prayer that speaks of the health and wellbeing of every living being on the planet is what the world needs today. For everyone to be in the best of health, for everyone to be at peace and for everyone to progress.
Mother Nature provides us with all the goodness that we need, to live a happy and healthy life. She nurtures, protects, and creates balance within us by offering seasonal, nutritious food. A mother then lovingly accepts from Mother Nature, and cooks these seasonal elements and creates something healthful, tasty and perfect for her children. Our mother, Krishna ben Patel, does exactly this!
Carefully selected pure and wholesome ingredients are lovingly converted into mouth-watering sweets under her personal supervision. With a passion for cooking and nurturing, she has created a variety of sumptuous delicacies that spread MITHAAS – a sweetness that makes the heart smile.
I’m Archana Patel, founder of Kiasa, and this is not just a business story it’s a heartfelt journey that began in a kitchen filled with love, tradition, and purpose.
Born and raised in Mumbai, I grew up surrounded by affection, encouragement, and complete freedom. I was a confident, independent girl, nurtured by my parents, and later, by my equally loving in-laws after I got married at 22.
After becoming a mother, my mother-in-law, Krishna Ben Patel, lovingly told me, “Don’t sit at home—do something.” Inspired by her words, I pursued my PGDM at NMIMS and began a successful career at ICICI Prudential, where I worked for eight years and earned several promotions. Life was stable, and fulfilling.
As years passed, I realized that while I was thriving professionally, my mother-in-law’s entire world revolved around me and my children. She had dedicated her life to us. That moment changed me. I encouraged her to live for herself and chose to step away from corporate life so she could step into a life of her own.
She began doing social work volunteering at Anath Ashrams and handicap schools, cooking meals for 500 to 550 children at a time. Her passion, discipline, and deep knowledge of traditional Indian cooking and Ayurvedic home remedies started gaining attention. That’s when I began documenting her wisdom what to eat in which season, how to prepare home remedies, and how to use food as medicine. I compiled all of it into a handwritten family book called “VARSO”
Then came the COVID era. People started reaching out to her for traditional sweets and remedies especially working women who wanted these benefits but didn’t have the time to prepare them. That’s when the idea of Kiasa was born.
We started in 2020, from our home kitchen, with just four traditional Indian sweets, made with pure ingredients, seasonal knowledge, and Ayurvedic principles. Within just four months, we sold 840 kg of sweets, entirely through word of mouth. The love was overwhelming. Customers said, “This tastes like what my dadi used to make.”
That’s when I realized we had uncovered a gap in the market. Today’s sweets are mostly made for profit, with little regard for purity or purpose. We decided to do things differently.
At Kiasa, every sweet is:
• Made from scratch we grind our own flours, make our own mawa, and never use ready-made or adulterated ingredients.
• Rooted in seasonal Ayurveda each sweet is designed according to what your body needs in that particular season.
• Zero chemicals, zero compromise we prioritize health without sacrificing taste.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our menu, built a loyal customer base, and even started serving corporate clients who order from us regularly. But our core remains the same: to bring back the wisdom of our grandmothers into modern lives.
Because sweets aren’t bad. What matters is when, how, and what kind of sweets you consume.
At Kiasa, we’re not just making sweets; we’re reviving a tradition, preserving Ayurveda, and nourishing lives with love, one bite at a time.
Welcome to Kiasa.
Taste the tradition. Trust the wisdom.
